Land Acknowledgement

Located in St. Louis, Missouri, the Fourth City Sisters acknowledge that we gather on the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Osage Nation, Otoe-Missouria (O-Toe Missouri-a), Illinois Confederacy, Quapaw (kwaa·paa), Ho-Chunk ( Ho-Chunk), Miami and many other tribes as the custodians of the land, who were removed unjustly, and that we in this community are the beneficiaries of that removal. Please join us in elevating and celebrating their communities, elders both past and present, as well as future generations.

We also acknowledge the loss of life and liberty of the millions of enslaved people whose labor has contributed to the great wealth of this nation and this institution. We acknowledge this labor has set the foundation of capitalism, access to resources, and social structures which directly impact BIPOC and other diverse communities

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

As a charity, advocacy, and performance organization the Fourth City Sisters are united in the urgent need to take concrete steps to dismantle white supremacy in all its forms and move toward a world free of institutional racism, ageism, sexism, and ableism.

The Fourth City Sisters stand in solidarity with our brothers, sisters, and siblings of color; our friends of all genders and gender expressions; individuals of all unique abilities; our elders and children; and our peers of all faiths, creeds, or skepticisms. We will march with you, raise your voices, and advance our journey towards justice.  A rising tide raises all BBLs!
